CLEVITE DE MEXICO, S.A. de C.V. was incorporated in 1959, to meet the demand of high performance and top quality required by the aftermarket.
Its main stockholder was CLEVITE CORPORATION USA. In 1963, meeting the very strict OEM quality standars, CLEVITE DE MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V. started producing bearings for original equipment. In 1975, GRUPO INTERCON, a diversified investment company, acquired the majority of the capital stock of the company. Due to the fast growth of the mexican automotive industry, a new plant was built in 1980, in the Industrial Park of Lerma, Estado de México; the facilities included the most modern technology available.
In 1991, the GRUPO INTERCON acquired the remaining shares of CLEVITE DE MEXICO; S.A. DE C.V. The company has continued a strong program of technical development, now, including R & D agreements with the UNAM (National University of Mexico) that has the best and most diversified R & D group in mechanics and materials.
Presently CLEVITE DE MEXICO, S.A. DE C.V. is a company recognised for the high quality of its products and services; it has received the Q-1 exellence award from Ford Motor Co. (North America), the Yushu Shoh (excellence award), two Yuryo Shoh (master of quality award), four consecutive years of Zero Defects, all from Nissan Mexicana, seven Quality Awards from Tremec, (the largest standard transmission manufacterer in North America), and the Quality Award from TSP (heavy transmissions of DANA Mexico).
